Brother James Trinidad:

 

Producer, arranger and percussionist Bro James' musical career has spanned over six decades. When just eight years old, he was playing with a steel pan band in a small town outside of Port of Spain, Trinidad.

 

He settled in Liverpool, England after a period as a seaman for the merchant navy. There he joined the Royal Caribbean Steel Pan Band, replacing the legendary Spree Simon who had just returned to T&T. ​

 

Eventually moving into working with rock bands on percussion, Bro James has played with a multitude of bands and musical projects including the Foundations, Stomu Yamashta's Go, and with the Marvin Hamlisch orchestra in the James Bond soundtrack of the Spy Who Loved Me. He was the 'go to' percussionist for many artists on Chris Blackwell's Island record label and worldwide, and has also recorded with the Wailers and played with Burning Spear.

 

Little Shashe G met Bro James at a Burning Spear gig in London, and found not only did they share a love of reggae but also jazz and music from many cultures. From that they began their musical collaboration.
